Jag tänkte skriva om en idé jag har för min blogg, men som inte i direkt mening handlar om klippdockor (anledningen till att jag inte postat något sedan i måndags är att jag varit lite oinspirerad och jobbat med andra saker).
Jag funderar helt enkelt på att posta recensioner av böcker som jag läser, för jag läser rätt mycket i och med att jag studerar litteraturvetenskap denna vår(och det är verkligen min grej). Jag har också rätt många olästa böcker i min bokhylla (den som är överfull) och det är många som jag planerar att köpa (därav många på engelska).
Jag är mest sugen på att läsa klassiker, och det var jag redan innan jag läste litteraturvetenskap, och många av de böcker jag har hemma är just av den benämningen. Så om jag bestämmer mig för att lägga ut recensioner av böcker här på bloggen (jag har nämligen inte bestämt mig helt) så blir det huvudsakligen den typen av litteratur.
Ni kan säkert lista ut att många av de böcker jag väljer att läsa är sådana som jag också har funderingar på att gestalta karaktärerna ur som klippdockor, men inte alltid. Det är faktiskt så att jag kan titta på en bok och tänka ”Går det att gestalta karaktärerna i den här som klippdockor?”. Ibland har jag dock fått retirera på den punkten.
Hur som helst, meningen är att jag ska ha blandade saker att posta på min blogg, så jag tror att jag ska göra bokrecensioner vid sidan av alla kostymer till Annissa och inlägg om mina klippdocksprojekt.

I love books as much as I love paper dolls. I am always interested to see what other people are reading ~ especially if they are reading the classics or anything from or about the 19th century.
I love the idea, also, of making dolls based on characters in books. One of these days I will make a paper doll set of the Count of Monte Cristo (in all my spare time!).

I want to know how you can understand what I write! Anyway, it will really be fun to see your Count of Monte Cristo dolls when they’re done (I beleive that book is set during the Regency era, if I dont have the wrong view, and that’s my favourite fashion era)!

the Count of Monte Cristo is a little bit post-regency (the 1830s). it’s a strange period clothing-wise, i think, but i would love to see more work in this era. one day i will work on them! i wish i had more hours in the day ~ or just more free days!

Ah! Yes, Internet is really good, otherwise I have’nt my blog :-). I have’nt seen many paperdolls in 1830s costumes, so that will really be fun to se. How do you work? Do you, as me, read the book before starting to draw dolls and costumes?

The Count of Monte Cristo is probably my favorite Dumas novel (with Three Musketeers being a close second). I find though I am inspired by many things I read, I’ve never tried to draw directly from textual descriptions. Is that what you do? I guess, I’d just be unsure how to do it, even though my degree is in English. (Of course it doesn’t help that most of what I read these days is contemporary very strange poetry…I just can’t see it becoming a very functional paper doll…)
I’m certainly in favor of book reviews, though I, like Boots, can only read this through google translator.

RLC, yes I draw from descriptions in the books (when they occurs), but even from scenes and events, and design my own models. I think, however, I follow the story to hard, and with my Northanger Abbey-project I have decided to do additional costumes.
